Today, October 29th, 2023, we are joining forces with the global community to mark World Stroke Day. This significant day is a reminder of the urgent need to raise awareness about stroke, its causes, signs, prevention, and the importance of immediate action.<\/p>\n

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability worldwide as well as here in Dominica. These alarming facts highlight the critical need for our foundation to educate everyone about this silent killer and for us to take better care of our health.<\/p>\n

At the RayAsta Foundation, our major initiatives currently include education of the public and training to caregivers who can provide support to stroke survivors and their families. We anticipate that in the future our programs and services will expand.<\/p>\n

Be vigilant for these warning signs – F<\/b><\/strong>ace drooping, A<\/b><\/strong>rm weakness, and S<\/b><\/strong>peech difficulty. If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s T<\/b><\/strong>ime to call emergency services (FAST). Remember, stroke symptoms are reversible if you receive treatment within three hours of the onset of a stroke.<\/p>\n
