{"id":311506,"date":"2023-11-06T11:29:54","date_gmt":"2023-11-06T15:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/?p=311506"},"modified":"2023-11-06T11:32:28","modified_gmt":"2023-11-06T15:32:28","slug":"accident-at-silverlake-claims-life-of-grandbay-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/accident-at-silverlake-claims-life-of-grandbay-man\/","title":{"rendered":"Accident at Silverlake claims life of Grandbay man"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_311509\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-311509\" style=\"width: 485px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-311509 \" src=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Accident-at-Silverlake.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"485\" height=\"399\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-311509\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Scene of accident at Silverlake<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One man is dead following a vehicular road traffic collision that occurred at Silverlake on Saturday, November 4,\u00a0 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The man has been identified as Javid Alfred, 29 of Grandbay who resided at Delices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to reports from Police Inspector Fixton Henderson, Alfred was riding a motorcycle in an easterly direction while Malisha Bardouille, female adult of Morne Prosper was driving a black Subaru Forester in a westerly direction along the highway in Silverlake when the two motor vehicles collided.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUpon impact the Subaru Forester caught fire and was completely burnt,\u201d Henderson revealed. \u201cHowever, the driver was unharmed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He said further that the rider of the motorcycle was thrown off the bike, propelled over the Forrester and onto the road.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe received multiple injuries and was transported to the emergency department of Dominica-China Friendship Hospital where he was examined and pronounced dead by a medical doctor,\u201d Henderson stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His body is being kept at a funeral home pending an autopsy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Police continue to investigate the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"One man is dead following a vehicular road traffic collision that occurred at Silverlake on Saturday, November 4,\u00a0 2023.
