In the heart of the Caribbean, the Commonwealth of Dominica is not just a haven of natural beauty; it is also a region witnessing important developments in medical education and healthcare.<\/span><\/p>\n

The American Canadian School of Medicine (ACSOM)<\/b> is at the forefront of this progress, and its recent collaboration with the <\/span>Arthur Waldron SDA Academy<\/b> is shining a light on the future of healthcare education and practice in Dominica.<\/span><\/p>\n

On October 25th, ACSOM welcomed enthusiastic students from the Arthur Waldron SDA Academy, accompanied by their dedicated teachers <\/span>Mrs. Sari Prosper-Rolle, Mrs.<\/span> Ernesta Burnette-Lewis and Mrs. Dalma Shaw-Daniel. <\/span>\u00a0The visit, named <\/span>“Med School for a Day”<\/b>, exceeded the typical school field trip, serving as an opportunity to inspire, educate, and instill a passion for healthcare. The students had <\/span>the privilege of gaining firsthand access to ACSOM\u2019s facilities and MD teaching faculty, leaders in their respective areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The students were treated to immersive tours of ACSOM’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the Virtual Reality Anatomy and the Medical Simulation Laboratories. These hands-on experiences provided practical insights into medical training, supplementing knowledge beyond what textbooks alone can offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The collaboration between ACSOM and the Arthur Waldron SDA Academy extends beyond traditional education, embodying a shared vision of empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals, fostering dreams, and encouraging ambitious aspirations.<\/span><\/p>\n
