In just a few hours, Miss Adicia Burton will pass on the baton to one out of six young ladies who will be crowned as the new Miss Dominica 2024, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life. Each contestant brings her own unique blend of charm, intelligence, and passion to the stage, promising a showcase of diverse talents and aspirations.<\/p>\n

The first contestant to take the stage will be Miss Auto Trade and Fine Food Inc, Jorjanna Albert, who is representing the Roseau Valley. The 20-year-old, who hails from the pristine village of Laudat, carries with her a legacy of pageantry, having previously held the title of Miss Teen Dominica in 2018. Albert\u2019s passion for drawing attention to the cause of women\u2019s empowerment has led to the selection of her platform, \u201cEmpowering Women Through Entrepreneurship.\u201d<\/p>\n

She will be followed by Miss Petro Caribe, 21-year-old Nickese Morancie, representing the cultural village of Dublanc. Having also carved her path through the pageantry world, earning accolades as the winner of the Miss Wob Dwiyet 2022 competition, Morancie exudes confidence and charisma. She seeks to bring attention to crucial ecological issues through her platform, \u201cThe Conservation, Preservation, and Promotion of Dominica\u2019s Natural Environment and Wildlife.\u201d<\/p>\n

With an aura of captivating energy, Miss InstaCash Royhanna Martin, representing the community of Soufriere, will grace the stage as contestant number three. The 20-year-old will also bring awareness to her platform, “Care for Children, the Society\u2019s Collective Responsibility to Support the Underprivileged in Pursuit of Their Dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n

At 24 years old, Miss Sanctuary Rainforest Eco Resort & Spa, Kianne Bastien, contestant number four, who proudly represents the vibrant community of Stock Farm, embodies a passionate dedication to advocating for women\u2019s health. Her commitment shines through her platform, \u201cEmpower Her: Navigating Women\u2019s Health.\u201d With a profound understanding of the challenges women face, particularly concerning cervical and uterine cancer, Bastien endeavors to cultivate a compassionate and supportive environment. Her platform seeks to establish a haven offering vital resources, fostering meaningful connections, and, above all, empowering women to navigate the complexities of these health challenges with resilience and strength.<\/p>\n

Miss J. Astaphans & Company Ltd Deniscia Laurent, crowned as the 2020 Miss Dominica State College Jamboree winner, will emerge as the fifth contestant in this evening\u2019s competition. Representing Petite Soufriere, she embarks on her journey to the throne with a resolute mission: championing the cause of body positivity. Her platform, \u201cPretty Hurts: Finding Comfort in Your Healthy Body,\u201d encapsulates Laurent\u2019s fervent commitment to reshaping societal beauty norms. In a world saturated with unattainable standards, she aspires to redefine these ideals, advocating for a healthier and more nurturing relationship with our bodies. Her platform, she says, speaks volumes about her dedication to fostering a culture that celebrates diverse forms of beauty and promotes a positive and accepting body image.<\/p>\n

The final competitor, Miss Ocean Edge, 20-year-old Kyanna Dyer, who represents Morne Daniel, embodies a vision of cultural preservation and youth empowerment through the arts. Her previous title as Miss Teen Dominica in 2019 reflects her deep dedication to pageantry and cultural representation. Dyer\u2019s conviction in the transformative influence of the arts to safeguard cultural heritage is reflected in her platform, \u201cYouth in Culture Through the Arts.\u201d<\/p>\n

She believes that the youth play a pivotal role in steering the preservation of a country\u2019s culture and fortifying its identity. Her vision intertwines dreams with reality, emphasizing the need to elevate youth voices through artistic expression.
