Kyanna Dyer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Just five years after earning the title of Miss Teen Dominica 2019 and succeeding her crown as Miss Convent High School (CHS), 20-year-old Kyanna Dyer, representing the community of Morne Daniel, has clinched the coveted title of Miss Dominica 2024. In a fierce competition against five other contestants, Dyer not only secured the crown but also swept multiple awards including Miss Photogenic, Best National Spectacular Wear, Best Performing Talent, Best in Evening Wear, and Best Response to Question. Speaking to the media after her win, Miss Ocean Edge expressed her excitement, stating, “I feel at a loss for words. Although I worked very hard and we prayed very hard and I was expecting the crown, to actually now have the crown and the title, it is a bit overwhelming. But I am really excited regardless.”<\/p>\n

Addressing doubts about her ability to succeed, Dyer confidently stated, “During the day it was just a move to get that crown. Never did I feel deterred or weighed down. The only time I felt a bit anxious is only when we were waiting for the results because like I told my team, we did not practice the waiting part,” she joked.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the new Miss Dominica has ambitious plans to promote her platform, “Youth in Culture Through the Arts,” envisioning hosting workshops where young people can learn traditional dances, create cultural attire, and cook indigenous cuisine. Beyond representing the country regionally, her focus is on advancing her platform as she states that she chose this cause to advocate for cultural preservation throughout the year, rather than just seasonally. She believes that maintaining cultural engagement consistently is crucial, as sporadic efforts may lead to waning interest among the youth.<\/p>\n

The first runner-up position was captured by Miss Nickese Morancie, former Miss Wob Dwiyet 2022. The 21-year-old Dublanc representative, who was sponsored by PetroCaribe and carried the platform of “The Conservation, Preservation, and Promotion of Dominica\u2019s Natural Environment and Wildlife,” earned the awards for Best Swimwear, Best in Swimwear, and Best Evening Wear.<\/p>\n

Second runner-up went to 20-year-old Laudat native, Miss Jorjanna Albert. The former 2018 Miss Teen, who represented, under her platform, “Empowering Women Through Entrepreneurship,” copped the award for People\u2019s Choice and Miss Amity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
