{"id":317356,"date":"2024-02-16T17:47:29","date_gmt":"2024-02-16T21:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/?p=317356"},"modified":"2024-02-16T17:47:29","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T21:47:29","slug":"aid-bank-reports-1-2-million-income-for-fiscal-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/homepage-carousel\/aid-bank-reports-1-2-million-income-for-fiscal-year\/","title":{"rendered":"AID Bank reports $1.2 million income for fiscal year"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_317357\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-317357\" style=\"width: 642px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-317357\" src=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Martin-Charles-File-photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"642\" height=\"361\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-317357\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Martin Charles<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dominica Agricultural Industrial and Development Bank (AID Bank), Martin Charles has announced that for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2023, the bank is reporting a profit of $1.2 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0He made the announcement during the AID Bank 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the State House Conference Center on Friday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFor the year ended June 30, 2023, the bank\u2019s continued efforts at management of its loan portfolio and the enhanced value of its investment properties realized an overall total comprehensive income of $1.2 million,\u201d he said. \u201cThe bank is mindful of the need to remain focused and not to become complacent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to him, as the bank has moved towards the end of one strategic period (2020-2024) into a new cycle, \u201cwe will continue to embrace the government\u2019s call for a national reset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charles said further, that with an enhanced marketing plan the bank will strengthen its public-private sector partnerships, particularly in the areas of tourism, manufacturing, agriculture, fisheries, and investments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, Charles indicated that in December 2021 the Government of Dominica through the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) made available to the AID Bank a line of credit valued at EC$27.8 million for private support to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI can report that at the end of June 30, 2023, a total of $16.35 million or 58.58 percent of the amount has been committed to the productive sectors of agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, transportation and services,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charles continued, \u201cWe have seen the emergence of new businesses and the expansion of existing ones which have created additional jobs and economic growth in the key sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dominica Agricultural Industrial and Development Bank (AID Bank), Martin Charles has announced that for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2023, the bank is reporting a profit of $1.2 million. \u00a0He made&#8230;","protected":false},"author":13,"featured_media":317357,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_cbd_carousel_blocks":"[]","footnotes":""},"categories":[18,36,235,9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-317356","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-economy-development","category-homepage-carousel","category-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 -
