Jamaican-American<\/a>\u00a0singer, Alaine Laughton who goes by the stage name \u2018Alaine\u2019 will be the headline act for this year\u2019s Jazz n\u2019 Creole festival.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made during the official launch of the 13th Edition of Jazz n\u2019 Creole held at the Realm in Roseau on Friday.<\/p>\n

The event is slated for Sunday, May 5 at Fort Shirley in Cabrits, Portsmouth under the theme: \u201cCreole Fusion\u201d, blending creole traditions with a festive flair in outfits that combine traditional Creole elements and a modern colourful twist.<\/p>\n

In 2005 Alaine released her breakthrough single, “No Ordinary Love”.\u00a0 She has also released several hits including ‘Deeper’, ‘Dreaming of You’, ‘Sacrifice’, ‘Rise in Love’, ‘Born To Win’, ‘Bye, Bye, Bye’, and ‘You Are Me’. Her debut album, titled Sacrifice, was released in early 2008 and her album, titled Luv A Dub, was released in Japan in August 2009. Ten of Hearts was released in 2015.<\/p>\n

Other artistes will include Dominica\u2019s princess of song, Michele Henderson, The Swingin Stars Band, Lianne \u201cL\u00ed-L\u00ed Octave\u201d Letang, daughter of Dominican soil, and multi-talented singing sensation and R\u00e9union Island native Mapy, known as the violin queen.<\/p>\n

The Jazz n\u2019 Creole event will begin at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the event cost $200 at the gate and VIP $325. Tickets can be purchased at Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) office in Roseau and online at https:\/dominicafestivals.com<\/a>;\/jazz-home\/<\/em><\/p>\n
