The University of the West Indies (The UWI) has achieved a perfect score in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings by strategically focusing on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to enhance its academic reputation and global research profile. Through the establishment of joint global centers and initiatives with renowned universities, The UWI has actively promoted advocacy and development outcomes related to sustainable development over the past decade. Particularly noteworthy is The UWI’s exceptional performance in supporting SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals, as evidenced by a perfect score of 100% in THE’s evaluation metrics.<\/p>\n
Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Hilary Beckles expressed pride in the recognition received from Times Higher Education, emphasizing the importance of implementing multiple strategies to realize The UWI’s vision. THE’s Impact Rankings commend universities that excel in advancing various SDGs through their research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching efforts.
