Tourism Minister Denise Charles-Pemberton has said the Champagne Beach located in Pointe Michel is being elevated to world-class level, to create more opportunities, more jobs, and greater economic activity for Dominicans and visitors alike.<\/p>\n

She was speaking at the signing and groundbreaking ceremony for the $1.7 million Champagne Beach Modern Tourism Reception Facility held in Pointe Michel on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday is a significant step forward in our nation\u2019s commitment to develop all our natural wonders with modern multi-facilities that will provide our guests with comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experiences,\u201d Charles-Pemberton said.<\/p>\n

She continued \u201cI am very pleased that we are about to construct a resilient building to provide world-class service reflecting the fame and beauty of Champagne Beach.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to her, the facility will have spaces for vendors, restaurant operators, tour operators, as well as changing rooms.<\/p>\n

\u201cGuests to Champagne will be able to relax and enjoy the scenic view of the area,\u201d Charles-Pemberton explained.<\/p>\n

Moreover, she said these facilities were also designed to facilitate everyone including the differently abled.<\/p>\n

As Minister responsible for Tourism and the Parliamentary Representative of the Pointe Michel, Charles-Pemberton said she is aware of the immense potential of Pointe Michel, Soufriere, Gallion, and Scottshead hold for tourism development.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Jullan Defoe stated that the development of the facility is a testament to the power of collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and the blue economy sectors, \u201cas the Minister responsible for the blue economy I am honoured to be here today and to celebrate this groundbreaking moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe agreement signed between the Government of Dominica and the CARICOM Developing Fund is a significant milestone in our journey to enhance the visitor experience at Champagne Beach, while safeguarding our precious marine resources.\u201d<\/p>\n

Defoe mentioned also that Champagne Beach will not only enhance the visitors’ experience but also generate economic opportunities for the local communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project will create new jobs, both during the construction phase and in ongoing operations,\u201d he indicated. \u201cMuch-needed employment and income for our citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he noted that this investment in the tourism infrastructure is an investment in the livelihood of Dominicans, empowering them to thrive and prosper.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we embark on this exciting journey let us remember that success of this project lies in our ability to strike a delicate balance using economic development and environmental stewardship,\u201d Defoe explained.<\/p>\n
