Her Excellency Sylvanie Burton<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The President of Dominica, Her Excellency Sylvanie Burton, DAH, is leading a prominent delegation from Dominica to the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) taking place in New York. President Burton is scheduled to speak to the General Assembly on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 25. This session is centered around the theme \u201cLeaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development, and human dignity for present and future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

During this gathering, global leaders will evaluate the progress achieved regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), explore strategies to address recent worldwide challenges, and review three key documents aimed at shaping future development: the \u2018Pact for the Future,\u2019 the \u2018Global Digital Compact,\u2019 and the \u2018Declaration on Future Generations.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Dominican delegation at UNGA 2024 comprises First Gentleman Mr. Gilbert Burton; Honourable Dr. Vince Henderson, Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy; H.E. Philbert Aaron, Dominica\u2019s Permanent Representative to the United Nations; H.E. Kelver Darroux, Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations; Consular Sheldon Peter Anthony; and Assistant Superintendent of Police Valda Powell.
