The Irish Council for International Students (ICOS) offers a prestigious award aimed at early to mid-career professionals who exhibit leadership potential, allowing them to undertake a one-year Master\u2019s degree in various fields at higher education institutions throughout Ireland. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the program has welcomed its largest group of recipients to date, all of whom have been granted this fully-funded opportunity by the Irish Government, facilitated by the Department of Foreign Affairs. The Annual Orientation Day took place on September 20, 2024.<\/p>\n

This award enables selected professionals to access high-quality education, enhancing their skills and contributing to capacity building. The program aims to equip fellows with essential competencies that can be applied to advance the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in their home regions. Among the recipients of the Ireland SIDS Fellows Programme for the Caribbean 2024\/25 is Ms. Tricia Jno Baptiste from Dominica, who is currently pursuing a Master\u2019s Degree in Finance at Trinity College Dublin.<\/p>\n

Ms. Jno Baptiste brings a wealth of experience in the finance sector, having held positions in audit, accounting, banking, and risk management. As a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holder of a BSc in Applied Accounting, she aims to enhance her expertise, particularly in Sustainable Finance, through this program. Her understanding of the obstacles faced by Small Island Developing States, including Dominica, in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals fuels her passion for this field and her desire to contribute solutions after completing her education.<\/p>\n

The Ireland Fellows Programme reflects the Irish Government\u2019s principle of \u2018Leave No One Behind,\u2019 recognizing education as a fundamental element in driving transformative change.<\/p>\n
