The Old Oven Art Gallery has announced its latest exhibition, titled \u201cNature Series,\u201d which features the works of two Dominican artists, Marica Honychurch and Michael Lees. This collection showcases the stunning and varied landscapes of Dominica, providing art lovers with the chance to acquire a piece of the island’s natural splendor. The exhibition will take place from October 1 to October 15, 2024, and emphasizes the artists’ profound connection to the island’s pristine beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through their unique artistic styles, Honychurch and Lees offer compelling interpretations of Dominica\u2019s vibrant scenery, including its dramatic coastlines and peaceful rural landscapes, with each piece reflecting the essence of the island. Marica Honychurch, an acclaimed photographer, is recognized for her impressionistic technique that highlights the rich textures and colors found in Dominica\u2019s environment. Her contributions to this exhibition focus on the island\u2019s lush rainforests, notable mountains, and coastal views, skillfully blending realism with artistic flair.<\/p>\n

Michael Lees, who is known for his work in documentary filmmaking and visual arts, provides a distinct viewpoint through his photography and mixed media creations. His contributions to the \u201cNature Series\u201d capture the island’s raw and unrefined beauty, inviting viewers to experience the tranquil yet powerful spirit of Dominica\u2019s wilderness.<\/p>\n

Following the \u201cNature Series\u201d exhibition, the Old Oven Art Gallery will present \u201cI Am Kalinago,\u201d a solo exhibition by Dominican artist Francillia Agar. This exhibition, scheduled from October 19 to December 18, will delve into the rich heritage of Dominica’s indigenous Kalinago people.<\/p>\n
