{"id":329796,"date":"2024-10-03T21:10:29","date_gmt":"2024-10-04T01:10:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/?p=329796"},"modified":"2024-10-03T21:10:29","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T01:10:29","slug":"nbd-contributes-250000-towards-the-staging-of-the-2024-wcmf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/homepage-carousel\/nbd-contributes-250000-towards-the-staging-of-the-2024-wcmf\/","title":{"rendered":"NBD contributes $250,000 towards the staging of the 2024 WCMF"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_329797\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-329797\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-329797 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Kareem-Bertrand-642x262.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"261\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-329797\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kareem Bertrand<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Bank of Dominica (NBD) has contributed $250,000 in cash and kind towards the staging of the 2024 World Creole Music Festival (WCMF).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This was according to Manager-Human Resource &amp; Talent Management at the National Bank of Dominica (NBD), Kareem Bertrand, who was addressing a press conference on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt is an honour for NBD to once again be chosen as the premier bank sponsor of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF),\u201d he said. \u201cOur contribution of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars which is a quarter million if you are doing your mental maths, in cash and kind, reflects our contributions and ongoing commitment to supporting not just this iconic festival, but also the vibrant cultural traditions that define who we are as a people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to him, NBD is not only highlighted as the premier sponsor of the WCMF, but also as the premier supplier of banking services to the festival.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur portable point-of-sale machines available for use during the festival will make transactions quick and smooth for both vendors and customers, ensuring an even better festival experience for everyone,\u201d Bertrand stated. \u201cThis will benefit not just the vendors, but also the customers who can enjoy faster service within the convenience of cashless payments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, he stated that NBD is proud to sponsor the WCMF for the third consecutive year, \u201cand we look forward to continuing this valued partnership in the years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bertrand went on to state that NBD continues to play its part as a corporate citizen, not only through the sponsorship of the WCMF, but also the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities and the Dominica Cancer Society, NBD Ministry of Sports Primary Schools Football championship, NBD Ministry of Education Math Power Contest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These initiatives, he stated, \u201care also our contributions to the private sector foundation for health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bertrand encourages everyone to take part in the Creole festivities whether through music, food, or dance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThese activities allow us to celebrate the rich heritage that makes Dominica so special,\u201d he noted. \u201cLet\u2019s embrace the spirit of Creole and immerse ourselves in all that this festival has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The National Bank of Dominica (NBD) has contributed $250,000 in cash and kind towards the staging of the 2024 World Creole Music Festival (WCMF).
