Reports reaching DNO indicate that one man was arrested during the protest action by members of the Tipper Truckers Association which started at Canefield this morning.<\/p>\n

Truckers parked several trucks on one lane of the E.O. Leblanc Highway in the vicinity of the Canefield Industrial Park to demonstrate their concern over what they say is a lack of employment for them, with spokespersons alleging that jobs are being handed out to foreigners. However, the protesters left one lane open to facilitate the flow of traffic.<\/p>\n

According to reports, during the protest, one of the truckers tried to park his truck across the road in an apparent attempt to block both lanes and was allegedly manhandled and arrested by the police.<\/p>\n
