Bouyon artist Trilla G has issued a statement responding to speculations concerning his recently announced withdrawal from the highly anticipated Ultimate Soca Champion Competition (USC) in Trinidad. According to the statement, there have been several rumors regarding the reasons behind his choice. However, the artist and his management team are keen to set the record straight.<\/p>\n

When news broke about his withdrawal, some fans and industry insiders reportedly speculated that Trilla G’s departure from USC was due to a conflict of genres, questioning whether Bouyon music could adequately compete in a Soca-dominated arena. In response, his management team has clarified that the decision was not a reflection of any genre bias but rather a strategic choice made in light of changes in his collaboration team. Any claims to the contrary they have explicitly labeled “entirely false.”<\/p>\n

There were also reported murmurs regarding his right to perform the song as a co-creator, but the statement sought to quickly snuff them out by underscoring that all three co-writers have legal clearance to perform the popular piece.<\/p>\n

Trilla G had initially seen the USC as a golden opportunity to share his vibrant track “Someone Else” with a larger audience, says the statement.
