This was announced by the Martinique prefecture on Wednesday, February 12.<\/p>\n<p>These remains have been transferred to local authorities for the necessary forensic examinations in accordance with national protocols before being returned to their grieving families.<\/p>\n<p>The French gendarmerie, deployed from Chamonix, arrived in Martinique yesterday and has been officially assigned to assist Dominican officials with this challenging operation.<\/p>\n<p>Reports indicate that the recovery efforts were hindered by the precarious position of the aircraft, which was lodged vertically on a mountainside, posing significant risks of collapsing due to the steep terrain and unstable vegetation in the vicinity.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, on January 28\u2014two days after the crash\u2014firefighters from CLIMP, aided by the civil security helicopter Dragon 972, successfully recovered two other bodies from the site.<\/p>\n<p>The small plane had taken off from Charles-Douglas Airport on the afternoon of January 26, flying over Dominica before crashing into a cliff in the La Plaine area.
