Dominica and Tajikistan have signed an agreement to end visa requirements between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The agreement was signed on Tuesday, February 11, by Dominica’s permanent representative to the United Nations (UN), Philbert Aaron, and his Tajikistan counterpart, Jonibek Hikmat in New York.<\/p>\n

Based on the agreement, nationals of both countries who are holders of valid diplomatic, official, and ordinary passports shall be exempted from visa requirements to enter, exit, transit through, and temporarily stay in each other’s country, provided that the length of stay does not exceed 90 days.<\/p>\n

The agreement is for an indefinite period and will begin 30 days after both countries receive the last written notification by diplomatic means of the completion of domestic procedures necessary for it to take effect.<\/p>\n

Tajikistan is a land-locked country in Central Asia surrounded by Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. In 2020 its population was estimated at 9,313,800 people, with 74 percent living in rural areas.
