{"id":337015,"date":"2025-02-17T00:11:51","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T04:11:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/?p=337015"},"modified":"2025-02-17T00:11:51","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T04:11:51","slug":"police-investigate-apparent-suicide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/news\/police-investigate-apparent-suicide\/","title":{"rendered":"Police investigate apparent suicide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-246267 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/police-investigation.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Criminal Investigations Department (C.I.D)\u00a0of the\u00a0Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF)\u00a0has commenced investigations into what appeared to be the suicidal death of 56-year-old Gifford Irish.<\/p>\n<p>Police reports revealed that Irish was found hanging at his home at Castle Comfort by his wife Zarina Irish at about 6:45 AM on Sunday, February 16, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The reports stated further that according to Mrs. Irish, she met her husband hanging from a rope, which was tied over a bedroom door with a white pail and a piece of a cinder block near him.<\/p>\n<p>She therefore called for help and attempted CPR to no avail.\u00a0 Fire department officials also arrived and attempted CPR, which proved futile.
