The Parish of St. Mark, encompassing the communities of Soufriere, Gallion, and Scott\u2019s Head, is set to host the Scott\u2019s Head Reunion from June 27 to July 6. This year’s theme is \u201cConnecting our past with the present for a brighter tomorrow.\u201d\u00a0 A Reunion committee, inclusive of various local groups and stakeholders such as the Village Council, is responsible for organizing this event.<\/p>\n

The committee encourages residents from Scott\u2019s Head, Soufriere, and Gallion, both locally and internationally, to return home for a celebration alongside other community members. Aiming to enhance the historic village, this collaborative initiative highlights the community’s spirit of unity, say the organizers. Several significant projects are planned for the Reunion, including the construction of a new bus stop to replace the one destroyed by Hurricane Maria, the establishment of four mini libraries to foster reading, a comprehensive clean-up campaign, assistance for the elderly, and initiatives to promote education.<\/p>\n

The Reunion Committee views this occasion as an opportunity for residents of Soufriere, Gallion, and Scott\u2019s Head to contribute to their community and work together towards common goals. A moment of silence will be observed in memory of individuals who made noteworthy contributions to the community but are no longer present, including Daniel Langlois and Dominique Marchand.<\/p>\n

Awards will be granted to community members who have excelled in various areas such as education, community development, community service, stewardship, support for the elderly, and fishing.<\/p>\n

A variety of entertaining activities have also been planned for attendees, with the official launch of the Reunion activities taking place on Easter Sunday at 4:30 PM in Scott\u2019s Head.\u00a0 The community can expect an opening prayer, speeches, entertainment, and a ‘Block ‘Orama’ with Dr. Miguel Labadee.\u00a0 Mr. Mix. Kubuli will introduce its Kubuli Blush alongside special offers.<\/p>\n

The schedule for the Reunion includes:<\/p>\n

– Friday, June 27: Opening Ceremony with prayer and songs of praise, followed by a history lecture by Dr. Lennox Honeychurch and additional entertainment.
\n– Saturday, June 28: Belle Marche to Gallion Village in the morning, cricket games, and a Fish Lime featuring DJ Dr. Miguel Labadee and others.
\n– Sunday, June 29:Village feast with services at the Soufriere Catholic Church, a blessing of the boats, and various aqua-sport activities with live entertainment.
\n– Monday, June 30: Commencement of the bus stop and mini-library construction, along with the evening’s domino competition.
\n– Tuesday, July 1: A trip to the Kalinago Territory.
\n– Wednesday, July 2: Bingo night and semifinals for the domino competition.
\n– Thursday, July 3: Beach party with a comedy night, Cachacrou’s Got Talent, and special guest Franklyn Moses.
\n– Friday, July 4: Final touches on the bus stop, followed by an evening fundraising dinner and dance with a semi-formal dress code.
\n– Saturday, July 5: A large-scale clean-up followed by the \u201cOriginal Ole School Kone Konla\u201d event featuring popular DJs and live entertainment.
\n– Sunday, July 6: An exhibition, award ceremony, and a live street celebration with the Sakis Lapou Cabrit Band.<\/p>\n
