Photo: guyanasouthamerica.gv<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Government of Guyana has pledged swift and decisive action following the discovery of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge\u2019s body in a pool at a hotel in Region Three Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>According to an article on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dpi.gov.gy\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/dpi.gov.gy&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1745686441632000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1OSBxf5BhAuJn00_BswBUp\">dpi.gov.gy<\/a>\u00a0President Mohamed Irfaan Ali\u00a0had this to say during a Facebook post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have asked the Commissioner of Police to assemble a special team to lead the investigation into all the circumstances surrounding 11-year-old Adrianna Younge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u00a0also\u00a0vowed that justice would be served with the full weight of the law.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201c<\/strong>We must uncover the full truth of everything that transpired, and no resource or effort will be spared in doing so. Whatever specialised resources are required to determine every aspect of the events and circumstances will be provided,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Furthemore, the article stated that the\u00a0heartbreaking news of the girl\u2019s death, which ended after hours of anxious searching, has plunged the nation into deep mourning.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Thursday, President Ali spoke to Younge\u2019s mother and pledged his government\u2019s support to get to the bottom of the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The president also called for a detailed report from the Guyana Police Force, documenting all actions taken since the initial investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, led by Dr Vindhya Persaud, remains on the ground, providing psychosocial support to Younge\u2019s grieving family and coordinating with law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>A team of social workers is also on the ground to assist.<\/p>\n<p>Public outcry continues to build as citizens express their grief and frustration.<\/p>\n<p>President Ali stated that the state\u2019s response will not end with the investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Government of Guyana has pledged swift and decisive action following the discovery of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge\u2019s body in a pool at a hotel in Region Three Thursday morning.
