Trinidad & Tobago\u2019s fast bowler, Joshua James, has been reported for a suspect bowling action during the ongoing West Indies Breakout League.\u00a0 Cricket West Indies shared that match officials flagged James\u2019 delivery during the first two fixtures\u2014against the Barbados Pelicans on April 25 and the Guyana Rainforest Rangers on April 26\u2014held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.<\/p>\n

Following the reports, the process entailed the submission of video footage from the matches in question to CWI. This footage, along with a written report, was forwarded to Loughborough University for detailed analysis through an Opinion Report.<\/p>\n

On Monday, April 28, CWI announced that the independent assessment conducted by Loughborough University\u2019s expert had determined James\u2019 bowling action to be illegal. Consequently, James has been immediately suspended from bowling in all West Indies international and regional matches. It was concluded that his deliveries exceeded the permissible limits for elbow extension as outlined in cricket regulations. In accordance with International Cricket Council (ICC) guidelines, this suspension extends to all domestic leagues worldwide.<\/p>\n

James is now required to undertake corrective work under the supervision of the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board. He will be eligible for reassessment once he has adjusted his bowling action, either through a subsequent Opinion Report from Loughborough University or another accredited testing center.<\/p>\n
