A Dominican has been shot and killed in Colombia, media reports from the Spanish-speaking South American country has indicated.<\/p>\n
He has been identified as Waldron Shillingford, 39, also known as Boffa.<\/p>\n
Media reports indicate that he was killed on Friday afternoon at around 2:00 in the rural area of Riohacha, which is the capital of the La Guajira department.<\/p>\n
The reports say that residents of the Mounte Verde community, near where the shooting took place, heard several loud explosions and Shillingford was later found on the side of a highway that leads from \u00a0Riohacha to the township of La Florida.<\/p>\n
The police were alerted and the body removed while an investigation into the motive of the incident was started.<\/p>\n
It is unknown how long Shillingford had been in Colombia and what he was doing there.<\/p>\n
Many Dominicans have take to social media to express shock at Shillingford’s untimely demise.<\/p>\n
“This is unbelievable,” one person wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n
“Say this isn\u2019t true. Not Waldron.
