\"\"Light and power company DOMLEC is refuting claims that it is dragging its feet on negotiations for a new license.<\/p>\n

The Independence Regulatory Commission (IRC) told a press conference recently that DOMLEC had not taken up invitation to begin negotiating for a new license.<\/p>\n

But DOMLEC General Manager Colin Cover says the company is simply carrying out investigations before it can enter into any new license.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe IRC sent us draft licenses in January and the licenses have some terms which we had to think a lot about. We could just have said no but since they put all of that together, we figured they must have had good reasons,\u201d Cover said.<\/p>\n

He said DOMLEC is willing to meet with the IRC to further discuss the matter.<\/p>\n
