A group of former students from the Dominica Grammar School (DGS) Class of 1995 has taken a significant step toward giving back to their alma mater through their inaugural donation of EC$1,000. This contribution was aimed at assisting with the expenses associated with the school\u2019s celebration of International Boys Day, held on May 16, 2025. The event was themed \u201cBuild Self-Esteem in Boys: Stand Up, Be Heard, Be Seen!\u201d<\/p>\n

A press release by the group said this initial donation signifies the start of a larger initiative by the alumni, who have maintained strong connections over the past thirty years. Currently, they report that they are in the process of formally establishing a non-profit alumni organization. The group describes its vision as supporting the school community through various means, including donations of equipment and supplies, financial aid, and mentorship programs\u2014honoring their collective legacy while fostering a brighter future for current and prospective students.<\/p>\n

The alumni group consists of over 100 members spread across North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Dominica. They are already planning further involvement with the school. Among their upcoming projects is supporting this year\u2019s graduation ceremony through the provision of awards and prizes. Additionally, they reportedly are eagerly preparing for their flagship reunion event, scheduled to take place from November 2 to 6, 2026.<\/p>\n
