The session will be moderated by Alvin Thomas.<\/p>\n<p>According to the group the event aims to analyze the circumstances leading up to May 29, 1979, and draw comparisons to the current political and social climate in Dominica. The discussion will also emphasize the vital roles played by civil society organizations\u2014including trade unions, churches, businesses, farmers, women, and youth groups\u2014in shaping the nation&#8217;s trajectory.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the ERC plans to honor many of the stalwarts associated with May 29, including Philip Timothy, who was among those who tragically lost their lives that day.
