The OECS (Organization of Eastern Caribbean States) Commission celebrated a significant milestone in its 44th Anniversary by successfully hosting a commemorative Fun Walk in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. An OECS press release shared that the event, held on June 15, drew a lively group of participants, including government officials, regional leaders, and members of the community.<\/p>\n

Spanning 5.4 kilometers, the walk commenced and concluded at the Arnos Vale Stadium, following a picturesque loop that highlighted the island\u2019s natural scenery while fostering community spirit, physical activity, and celebration. The event was organized by the OECS Commission in partnership with the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the International Organization of Migration (IOM) Caribbean Office, and the OECS Regional Integration for Growth, Harmonization, and Technology (RIGHT) Programme.<\/p>\n

This Fun Walk was one of several activities marking the anniversary, which is themed “Adapting, Innovating, Sustaining: A Unified OECS for a Changing World.” Beyond celebrating regional solidarity, the walk served as a concrete display of community involvement, uniting individuals of all ages to promote health, regional cooperation, the Free Movement of Persons, and active participation in the anniversary festivities.<\/p>\n

Participants engaged in the event with a sense of unity, complemented by performances from local artists and community groups that added vibrancy to the occasion. The Fun Walk exemplifies the OECS\u2019 ongoing dedication to fostering a resilient, inclusive, and interconnected region.<\/p>\n
