The Dominica Athletics Association (DAA) successfully organized its annual Juvenile Championships over the weekend at the Geneva Playing Field in Grand Bay, bringing together some of the island\u2019s most promising young track and field athletes for a vibrant display of emerging talent.<\/p>\n

DAA stated via press release that a total of 121 competitors from nine affiliated clubs and schools participated in the event, which featured 79 different competitions over two days on June 22 and 23. The Championships encompassed a comprehensive range of athletic disciplines, including sprints, middle-distance runs, relays, long jump, and throwing events. The meet was designed to foster skill development among athletes in the age categories of U7, U9, U11, U13, and U15.<\/p>\n

Beyond providing valuable competitive experience, the Association said the event also served as a platform for talent scouting. The DAA used the occasion to identify young athletes with potential for further training and future representation at the national level.<\/p>\n

Attendees and officials\u00a0 reportedly observed remarkable talent and determination displayed by the young competitors throughout the event. The DAA expressed gratitude to coaches, volunteers, officials, and supporters, whose efforts contributed significantly to the successful execution of the championships.<\/p>\n
