Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the West Indies Players\u2019 Association (WIPA) officially recognized the region\u2019s top cricketing talents at the 8th Annual CWI\/WIPA Awards Gala, held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord\u2019s Castle.<\/p>\n
CWI stated that the event brought together former legends, current players, and key stakeholders to celebrate West Indies cricket. It honored outstanding male and female cricketers who demonstrated consistent performance across international and regional competitions during the 2024 season.<\/p>\n
The night also marked the 50th anniversary of the West Indies\u2019 historic victory at the 1975 ICC Cricket World Cup\u2014a milestone that the organization says continues to inspire fans and players throughout the Caribbean and beyond, “In a night filled with pride, passion, and purpose, players, legends, administrators, fans, and dignitaries came together to honour the past and celebrate the present.”<\/p>\n
In his opening remarks, Chris Dehring, CEO of CWI, commended the nominees\u2019 exceptional efforts:<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ve weathered the pressure, risen to the occasion, and made your nations and your region proud. On behalf of all of us at Cricket West Indies and the West Indies Players Association, congratulations.”<\/p>\n
Wayne Lewis, Secretary of WIPA and Co-Chair of the CWI\/WIPA Awards Committee, spoke on behalf of WIPA President Wavell Hinds, highlighting the broader significance of the event:<\/p>\n

This year, ten award categories were contested, each featuring a strong pool of nominees. The recipients of the top honors were:<\/p>\n
