On July 10, 2025, the DS Football Club played a match against Portsmouth Bombers FC, which reportedly ended with an unfortunate incident.<\/p>\n

President of the Club, Rufus Paul, issued a statement on July 12 addressing the issue. In the statement, Paul explained that during the game, the goalkeeper, Delton Dalrymple, and player Aurin Remie got into a verbal argument that escalated into a physical fight on the field.<\/p>\n

He expressed the Club’s sincere apologies to the fans, Portsmouth Bombers FC, and the Dominica Football Association (DFA) for this behavior, stating that the DS Football Club plans to handle the matter internally by suspending the involved players indefinitely.<\/p>\n

He also shared that the goalkeeper was attacked by fans and other club members in the DFA locker room area. Although he sustained what Paul says are\u00a0 “serious injuries”, he is reportedly doing fine.<\/p>\n

Paul acknowledged the failure on the part of DSFC, and made it clear that bullying will not be tolerated, and security improved, moving forward.<\/p>\n

“We are working towards a solution that is not only fair, but is aligned with the club’s mission of using football as a platform to help, grow and reach the youth,” said Paul.<\/p>\n

The club had a match against Portsmouth Bombers FC on July 10th 2025. During the match, our goalkeeper – Delton Dalrymple and player – Aurin Remie got into a verbal argument, which unfortunately led to a physical altercation on the field. For this, we offer our deepest apologies to our fans, Portsmouth Bombers FC, and the Dominica Football Association (DFA).<\/em><\/p>\n

Whilst the club will forever be dedicated to the personal development of its players, DS Football club does not and will not tolerate bullying or fighting amongst teammates. We would like to assure our fans and the public that this matter will be dealt with internally and players will be suspended indefinitely. We are working towards a solution that is not only fair, but is aligned with the club’s mission of using football as a platform to help, grow and reach the youth.<\/em><\/p>\n

Moreover, following the altercation on the field, our goalkeeper was then attacked by fans and by other club members who left the stands and made their way to the\u00a0Dominica Football Association\u00a0locker room area – a space that is supposed to be secured and protected.<\/em><\/p>\n

He has suffered severe injuries due to the attack and whilst the outcome could have been worse, we are thankful that he is doing okay. This is a serious failure on the part of the DFA, and we expect better security and player safety moving forward not just for our club but the entire football community.<\/em><\/p>\n
