The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced the return of the Dive and Conservation Festival, scheduled to take place from October 25 to October 31, 2025. Now in its fourth year, the Grenada Tourism Authority said via statement that the festival aims to bring together divers, conservationists, students, and marine enthusiasts for a week dedicated to underwater exploration, environmental education, and eco-friendly activities across Grenada and Carriacou.<\/p>\n
The festival\u2019s program includes a variety of activities such as guided dives at prominent sites, an opening night celebration, an east coast beach clean-up, educational nature days, and a special dive excursion to \u2018A World Adrift,\u2019 a newly established underwater sculpture park in Carriacou. Conservation initiatives featured during the event will include coral restoration projects and sea turtle protection efforts, emphasizing the importance of marine preservation.<\/p>\n
The island’s Mount Cinnamon Beach and Wellness Resort has been designated as the official host hotel for 2025. Several accommodation partners will offer exclusive promotional rates to festival participants, facilitating accessible lodging options for attendees.<\/p>\n
According to the Authority, participants will have the opportunity to engage in daily guided dives to explore Grenada\u2019s diverse marine biodiversity while promoting responsible diving practices and sustainability. A key component of the festival is the \u2018Conservation-Conversations\u2019 speaker series, which will feature internationally recognized experts, dive shop owners, and local environmental partners. These discussions will focus on marine protection, reef conservation, and the future of eco-diving in the region. The festival, says the GTA, encourages student participation in these sessions to promote youth involvement in ocean stewardship.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the statement said that the dive shops across Grenada and Carriacou will offer special discounts to participants, aiming to increase accessibility and motivate both residents and visitors to experience the islands\u2019 vibrant underwater landscapes.<\/p>\n
Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Tourism Authority, Stacey Liburd, emphasized the importance of sustainability in tourism development.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s critical that sustainability is not just a theme but a foundation of our tourism approach. The Dive and Conservation Festival reflects our commitment to developing eco-conscious experiences that both protect our natural assets and benefit the people of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique. Our marine spaces are not only beautiful, they are vital, and it is our responsibility to preserve them for future generations,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n
