The Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) is collaborating with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat to organize the upcoming Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA), scheduled to take place on the shores of Saint Kitts and Nevis.<\/p>\n

A CRFM release shared that the event is set for September 29 to October 3, 2025, and will be held under the theme: \u201cSowing Change, Harvesting Resilience: Transforming Our Caribbean Food Systems for 2025 and Beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of the program, CRFM and its partners plan to host two hybrid public events aimed at engaging fishers, farmers, policymakers, fisheries authorities, civil society, academia, private sector entities, and other stakeholders. These events are:<\/p>\n

– The Sargassum Seminar: From Sargassum to Biostimulant\u2014Sowing Change & Harvesting Resilience.
\n– The CRFM Small-Scale Fisheries and Aquaculture Forum.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the CRFM Ministerial Council states that it will hold a special session during the Caribbean Week of Agriculture to discuss efforts toward establishing a more supportive policy environment that encourages sustainable growth and development within the region\u2019s fisheries and aquaculture sectors.<\/p>\n

Further updates regarding the event are anticipated. In the meantime, interested parties are encouraged to participate in the online launch of CWA 2025, scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, at 8:00 AM CST and 10:00 AM AST, to help generate momentum for this annual gathering.<\/p>\n
