The 2nd Annual Dominica Bike Festival 2025 was officially launched on\u00a0Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of local, regional, and international bikers are gearing up to participate in the three-day event scheduled for July 25-27.<\/p>\n

Day one of the event will be dubbed \u201cThe Iron Man Drag Day\u201d in memory of the late Pat Henry, who lost his life in a motorcycle accident earlier this year.\u00a0 Day two: \u2018Wheel N And Wild N Bike Exhibition\u2019 and day three: \u2018West Coast Ride Out\u2019.<\/p>\n

More bikers than average are expected to participate in this year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have seen how events such as these–Dominica Bike Festival–it provides more than entertainment,\u00a0\u00a0it energizes economies, it empowers entrepreneurs and and brings communities together,” Festivals and Events Manager of Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), Ayodele Andrew said while addressing the launching ceremony held at the Canefield Airport on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

According to her, this festival is about the thrill of the ride and the movement it creates off the track.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect to see hundreds of visitors, not only the bikers, but their fans, enthusiasts, adrenaline junkies like myself from across Dominica, the region, and the world coming in for this bike festival in Dominica,\u201d Andrew stated.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cThis means that our guest houses will be filled, our hotels, restaurants will be busy, our vendors will have an increase in sales, our taxis will be booked, and service providers from various sectors will all be engaged.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said every dollar spent next weekend will help keep doors open and dreams alive.<\/p>\n

Beyond the economic benefit, Andrew noted that there is something even more powerful: \u201ccommunity pride, and with that pride comes responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrew reminded bikers as well as motorists that safety is number one.<\/p>\n

\u201cRide hard but ride safe\u2026,\u201d she encouraged. \u201cProtective gear is not an option, it is essential.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cWe want every rider to make great memories, not mistakes. And to all the festival goers, let us respect the safety guidelines. Follow the signs, listen to the marshalls, listen to the police, and help us create an atmosphere where everyone feels secure.\u201d<\/p>\n
