{"id":345742,"date":"2025-07-31T08:34:46","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T12:34:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/?p=345742"},"modified":"2025-07-31T08:34:46","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T12:34:46","slug":"the-new-wesley-primary-school-is-on-its-way-wesley-mp-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/homepage\/homepage-carousel\/the-new-wesley-primary-school-is-on-its-way-wesley-mp-says\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;The new Wesley Primary School is on its way&#8217;- Wesley MP says"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_345743\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-345743\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-345743\" src=\"https:\/\/dominicanewsonline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Fidel-Grant-presentation-during-budget-debate-on-Tuesday-642x343.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"342\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-345743\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fidel Grant presenting during budget debate on Tuesday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The construction of the new Wesley Primary School, \u201cis on its way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This was according to Parliamentary Representative of the Wesley Constituency Fidel Grant, during the 2025-2026 Budget debate on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the school will be constructed in Londonderry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last few weeks, the Wesley Primary School&#8211;we had to relocate on a shift system to the Northeast Comprehensive School,\u201d Grant said. \u201c We heard the announcement \u00a0from the Honourable Prime Minister [and] we are in discussions with the Ministry \u00a0of Education, and we will be constructing a brand new Wesley Primary School \u00a0at Londonderry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201c\u00a0I have seen the designs.\u00a0 It is a \u00a0brand new, much improved space for our children within the constituency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some persons have expressed concern that the school will be outside of the village, however, Grant assured the parents that \u201cthis is not so\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor those of us who know the area well, where the lab is located now, we will be joining that Road to the Joe Burton Road so children can commute easily to and from the village,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Grant explained that presently concerns have been raised as it relates to having large amounts of vegetation in the area, &#8220;and we are going to have small children [there].&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe entire site is being cleared, and construction of the new Wesley Primary School is on its way,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The construction of the new Wesley Primary School, \u201cis on its way.\u201d This was according to Parliamentary Representative of the Wesley Constituency Fidel Grant, during the 2025-2026 Budget debate on Tuesday.
