Dwayne Anthony Jarvis of Salisbury has made history as Dominica\u2019s first Power Ball winner for 2025, walking away with a cheque for $178,898.00 during a presentation ceremony held Friday by the Dominica National Lottery (DNL).<\/p>\n

Jarvis, a regular lottery player, expressed a mix of emotions as he accepted his prize. \u201cFirst of all I am nervous, but excited to be the winner of the Power Ball,\u201d he said. \u201cI am excited to be here and I will continue to play the lottery.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added with a smile, \u201cYou have to be in it to win it.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to DNL\u2019s Sales and Marketing Manager, Ken George, Jarvis purchased his winning ticket at the DNL main office in Roseau. Remarkably, the ticket was won on a free play.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are happy for you,\u201d George told Jarvis. \u201cThe exciting thing about this ticket is that he won his ticket on a free play.\u201d<\/p>\n

George used the opportunity to remind the public of the value of free plays.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever you purchase lottery tickets and receive a free play, that is a free ticket, please go and redeem that ticket,\u201d he advised.<\/p>\n

In addition to celebrating Jarvis\u2019s win, George issued a public appeal to the winner of the recent Super 6 Jackpot, valued at $1.19 million. The winning ticket was purchased at Miniyas in Canefield on Saturday, August 2, 2025, but has yet to be claimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrently we are awaiting the winner of the Super 6 Jackpot of $1.19 million,\u201d George said. \u201cThose of you who purchased tickets at Miniyas, please look at your tickets.\u201d<\/p>\n

He urged the winner to check the Dominica National Lottery Facebook page, visit the company\u2019s website at domlottery.com<\/a>, or contact any DNL agent to verify the winning numbers.<\/p>\n
