The Dominica Chess Federation is extending an invitation to women and girls of all ages to participate in Stage 2 of the Queen\u2019s Gambit Challenge \u2013 Intermediate Training, organized by the International Chess Federation (FIDE). A press release from the organization stated that the initiative aims to provide participants from FIDE Level 3, 4, and 5 federations\u2014including Dominica\u2014with access to complimentary, world-class coaching and mentorship.<\/p>\n
Scheduled to commence in September 2025, Stage 2 is open to players of all experience levels, ranging from absolute beginners to seasoned competitors. Whether returning from Stage 1 or entering the program for the first time, participants will have the opportunity to develop strategic skills, delve into advanced chess concepts, and enhance their tournament preparation.<\/p>\n
The key dates for the program are as follows:
\n– Registration deadline: 6 September 2025
\n– Start of classes: 20 September 2025<\/p>\n
All sessions will be conducted online, led by a team of internationally recognized and highly experienced coaches. The curriculum is designed to combine strategic thinking, advanced theory, and practical preparation, while also fostering connections among female players worldwide.<\/p>\n
This initiative is significant for Dominica, says the DCF, as it enables local women and girls to join peers from over 70 countries across the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. The shared platform promotes collaboration and inspiration, positioning women from Dominica to potentially compete on the international stage, including major events such as the Women\u2019s Chess Olympiad.<\/p>\n
