At the 2025 PanAm Junior Games, national record holder Addison James concluded his competition in the Men’s Javelin with a ninth-place finish.<\/p>\n
The Dominica Olympic Committee reported that in the opening round, Addison delivered a strong throw of 62.48 meters but was unable to surpass that distance in subsequent attempts, recording 62.06 meters in the second round.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, his third attempt resulted in a foul, eliminating him from contention for the finals, as only the top eight competitors advance and receive three additional throws.<\/p>\n
Addison, who currently holds the national record at 67.48 meters \u2014 a mark he achieved at the 2025 CARIFTA Games \u2014 aimed to surpass his personal best at these championships. Despite not reaching that goal, he expressed satisfaction with his effort, stating that he did his best in the field.<\/p>\n
The young athlete, who attends Edwin Allen High School in Jamaica, is determined to continue training with the goal of breaking the 70-meter barrier in the upcoming season.<\/p>\n
The Men’s Javelin event was ultimately won by Lars Flaming of Paraguay, who set a new Games record with a throw of 81.56 meters. The silver medal went to Cuba\u2019s Leikel Cabrera with a distance of 75.82 meters, while Brazil\u2019s Thiago Lacerda secured the bronze with a throw of 69.77 meters.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, Dominica will be represented in the field events again, with Treneese Hamilton competing in the Women\u2019s Shot Put scheduled for 6:25 PM PYT \/ 5:25 PM ECT on Thursday, August 21.<\/p>\n
All athletics competitions are taking place at the Paraguayan Olympic Committee-Olympic Park in Asuncion, the host city.<\/p>\n
