Photo: Cricket West Indies<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The West Indies Women\u2019s cricket squad has recently wrapped up a rigorous high-performance training session at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, as Cricket West Indies (CWI) intensifies its efforts to foster growth in women\u2019s cricket throughout the Caribbean region.<\/p>\n<p>CWI reported that the training camp in Antigua was structured in two distinct phases to optimize development opportunities. Currently, fifteen promising female players are developing their skills within a professional high-performance environment there.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Women\u2019s Head Coach Shane Deitz explained the purpose behind the developmental camp: &#8220;We had a mixture of established players, new players and fringe players come to Antigua for the last 5 weeks. It&#8217;s been great to be able to focus on some fundamental technical work and some strength and conditioning work. We were also able to conduct fitness testing and have already seen some improvements in a short space of time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added,\u201cHector Martinez our Strength and Conditioning Coach has been pushing the players, and they are responding very positively.
