Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has announced that the Ocean Oasis Hotel located in Castle Comfort will open its doors to the public before the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

He said during a statement that the project is being financed by the Citizenship By Investment (CBI) Program.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is expected that the hotel will be opened before the end of 2025\u2026,\u201d he said. \u201cIt is a project that is being developed by a local Dominican and these are all part of the government’s policy, empowering local\u00a0Dominicans\u00a0in the effort to creating jobs, \u00a0in the effort to expanding the economy, \u00a0in the effort to ensuring that we can have the kind of accommodation and \u00a0investments that we need in the country \u00a0to take the country to the next level.”<\/p>\n

According to him, there is no doubt that\u00a0Ocean Oasis, \u00a0popularly known as Ocean Edge,\u00a0\u00a0\u201cwill do all of these things.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c\u00a0And I think there is \u00a0huge excitement \u00a0toward its opening,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cWe are seeing a huge number of visitors into our country. We need more rooms.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201c\u00a0I recall some years ago we were criticized by the opposition for building hotel rooms. People felt like we don’t know why we need hotel rooms. But for you to really truly benefit from the tourism industry, you need rooms. Because people have a find a place\u00a0to sleep.\u00a0People can open a tent and sleep in an open patch. We need rooms and we need high quality rooms where people can enjoy what Dominica has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Skerrit added, \u201cAnd of course the shared number of people who will be employed at the hotel.
