In the fourth fixture of the Massy Women\u2019s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), Guyana Amazon Warriors secured a five-wicket victory over Trinbago Knight Riders with seven balls remaining, earning their spot in the 2025 final where they will face Barbados Royals.<\/p>\n

“The result sees the Knight Riders rooted to the bottom of the table with a third defeat in a row whilst the Warriors go level on points with Barbados Royals, albeit having played one more match,” shared a WCPL press release.<\/p>\n

According to the WCPL, the standout performer was Player of the Match, Stafanie Taylor, who took the wicket of Jess Jonassen with her bowling and contributed a measured 39 runs off 44 balls with the bat, helping to steady the run chase.<\/p>\n

Trinbago Knight Riders chose to bat first after winning the toss at Providence Stadium. They experienced a steady loss of wickets, with Molly Penfold delivering an impressive spell of 4 wickets for 17 runs in her four overs, demonstrating both skill and economical bowling.<\/p>\n

Jess Jonassen and Deandra Dottin provided resistance with scores of 51 and 31 respectively. Jonassen\u2019s maiden WCPL half-century was a much-needed effort, but a total of 123 for 7 wickets still seemed somewhat modest.<\/p>\n

Despite Realeanna Grimmond\u2019s early dismissal, caught and bowled by Dottin, her in-form partner Amy Hunter responded with 27 off 31 balls. Taylor\u2019s contribution was pivotal in bringing the Warriors close to victory, only to fall victim to Shikha Pandey with just a few runs needed.<\/p>\n

The Knight Riders\u2019 campaign has been disappointing, and they will aim for a consolation win in their upcoming match against the Royals on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Warriors will face the Royals in a pre-final encounter on Sunday at the same venue.<\/p>\n
