Dominican beekeepers have once again demonstrated their regional dominance by securing ten awards at the 2025 OECS Honey Show, held in St. Kitts on October 2 as part of the Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA). The achievement marks the highest number of awards won by any participating country and reinforces Dominica\u2019s reputation as a leader in Caribbean apiculture.<\/p>\n
All awardees are members of the National Beekeepers Cooperative Society Ltd., whose collective success builds on last year\u2019s sweep of the competition. The group\u2019s continued excellence across diverse categories highlights the strength and innovation of Dominica\u2019s beekeeping sector.<\/p>\n
The awards were distributed as follows:<\/p>\n
First Place<\/strong><\/p>\n Second Place<\/strong><\/p>\n Third Place<\/strong><\/p>\n The National Beekeepers Cooperative Society Ltd. stated in a release that the awards reflect not only individual talent but also the collective growth of Dominica\u2019s beekeeping community. Through training, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence, the island\u2019s beekeepers continue to set regional standards in honey production and value-added products.<\/p>\n Vice President of the Cooperative Society and veteran awardee stated, \u201cWinning again at the OECS Honey Show proves that Dominican honey and products have a consistent high standard across the region, and I\u2019m glad to represent Dominica and show our potential.\u201d<\/p>\n The Cooperative Society has congratulated all winners and reaffirmed its dedication to advancing the apiculture industry, promoting sustainability, and maintaining Dominica\u2019s position as a top producer of honey and bee-derived products in the Caribbean and beyond.<\/p>\n\n
