President of the Dominica Calypso Association Gregory \u2018Karessah\u2019 Riviere has said the Calypso Semi-Finals competition scheduled to take place at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on January 31 will be \u201cbigger\u201d and \u201cbetter\u201d this year.<\/p>\n

He was delivering remarks at the weekly Carnival press conference held on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cWe had a\u00a0very\u00a0successful Calypso\u00a0Quarter-Finals\u00a0and\u00a0of course, the songs were great,\u201d he said. \u201cWe had great entertainment,\u00a0and\u00a0strong patronage.\u00a0Lots of eats and drinks\u00a0and of course, with everything, there are one or two things that we have to improve on. And we definitely took note so that this semifinals will be bigger and better.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a020 Calypsonians\u00a0who\u00a0will move on to the semi-finals\u00a0are, Mystrie, Nacheal, The Bobb, Karessah, Jaydee, Tasha P, Webb, Checker, Royette, Observer, Abiyah Yisrael, Redz, Lady Esse, Sandy, Trendsetter, Mighty D, Kalfa P, Checko, Daddy Chess, Sye. The reserves are Liberator, Shadow Flow and Jamma B.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we are going to the stadium and we are going to bring you a completely \u00a0new experience at the stadium,\u201d he said. \u201cThis, of course, will provide for general seating. He said the Party\u00a0\u00a0VIP\u00a0with seating is $130,\u00a0\u00a0general seating for $70\u00a0and regular\u00a0$60.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd of course, if you want to purchase your tickets in advance, you can only get it for only $50,\u201d Riviere revealed.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he stated that patrons who\u00a0may not be able to come to the show for one reason or the other\u00a0can take advantage of the pay-per-view package for US$20.<\/p>\n

He encouraged the general public to continue to support calypso and the Tents.<\/p>\n

Special guest performance will come from Bouyon Artist Quann and Company.<\/p>\n
