The Honourable Mr Justice Winston Anderson was the keynote speaker at the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute Partner\u2019s Forum on the Caribbean perspective of transnational actions in reshaping accountability for climate justice.

President of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ), Honourable Mr. Justice Winston Anderson, along with Mrs. Gabrielle Figaro-Jones, the Registrar and Chief Marshal, conducted an official visit to Caribbean Community (CARICOM) member state Barbados, between January 15 and 20.<\/p>\n

During this visit, Justice Anderson delivered the keynote speech at the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute\u2019s (CANARI\u2019s) Partners Forum, focusing on climate justice issues affecting the Caribbean region, shared a media release from CCJ.<\/p>\n

In addition to his keynote address, Justice Anderson reportedly held several courtesy meetings with prominent Barbadian officials. These included His Excellency Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bostic, FB, MVO, the President of Barbados; Prime Minister Mia Mottley, SC, MP; Chief Justice Leslie Haynes; and Ralph Thornes, KC, MO, the Leader of the Opposition.<\/p>\n

CCJ explained that the purpose of the visit underscored its ongoing strategic effort to maintain active engagement with regional stakeholders, aligning with the CCJ\u2019s Strategic Plan 2025\u20132032. The initiative aimed to advance the Court\u2019s core objectives of increasing access to justice, boosting regional influence, and fostering effective communication and stakeholder relationships. By strengthening direct interactions with CARICOM member states, the Court seeks to raise awareness about its functions and to reinforce regional institutional ties.<\/p>\n

According to the Court, this visit marks the third series of courtesy calls carried out since Mr. Justice Anderson assumed the presidency in July 2025. In October 2025, he visited key officials in Guyana, including the President, the Acting Chancellor of the Judiciary, the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, the Secretary-General of CARICOM, and representatives from groups such as We Invest in Nationhood, A Partnership for National Unity, and Forward Guy<\/p>\n
