The Dominica Cricket Academy has received a financial injection of $67,500 from the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, a contribution aimed at strengthening the academy\u2019s operations and advancing cricket development on the island.<\/p>\n

Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development, Senator Oscar George, confirmed the sponsorship during an interview, noting that the funds represent part payment towards the annual sponsorship of the academy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese funds, to the tune of $67,500, is just part payment towards the annual sponsorship, payment towards the Academy and of course, on behalf of the Ministry of Sports and the Government of Dominica,\u201d George explained.<\/p>\n

He expressed the Ministry\u2019s gratitude to the Patriots and their Director, Mr. Mahesh Ramani, for their continued support.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe sincerely thank the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and more specifically Mr. Ramani, who have made a significant contribution towards the operations of the Dominican Cricket Academy,\u201d George said.<\/p>\n

George described the academy as the premier cricket development program in Dominica, dedicated to nurturing young talent and promoting excellence in the sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe main objective is to identify and nurture young cricketers by way of technical training, exposing them to specialized coaching and all-round cricketing mentorship,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The academy also boasts an indoor training center equipped with modern facilities, allowing players to train uninterrupted. Over the years, it has produced several notable players, including Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Stephen Pascal, and Arsenio Fontaine, among others.<\/p>\n

George highlighted the academy\u2019s impact on sports development in Dominica.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Academy has been and continues to make a very significant, positive impact on our sports,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

He stressed the importance of the Patriots\u2019 investment, describing it as vital to sustaining the academy\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n
