All roads lead to St Joseph today for the much-anticipated St Joseph Village Carnival.<\/p>\n

Representative of the St. Joseph Village Carnival Committee Waynesha Sanderson who spoke during \u00a0a weekly Carnival Press Conference recently said that patrons can expect a strong cultural showcase, vibrant costumes and high energy performances this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year’s themes, ‘Drumming and Sensay 2026’, celebrates our African heritage, rhythm, and the traditional cultural elements that continue to define Carnival in St. Joseph,\u201d she said. \u201cPatrons can expect a strong cultural showcase, vibrant costumes and high energy performances.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Sanderson, the parade will assemble from 1.30 p.m. and begin promptly at 2 p.m. starting near V’s Enterprise on the St. Joseph Highway\u00a0and\u00a0concluding near the St. Joseph Playing Field.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Sanderson said the\u00a0St. Joseph Sensay Committee is working tirelessly to provide the original Sensei costumes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat means no plastic or bags, fully clothed, heavy duty stuff,\u201dshe explained.<\/p>\n

She said this year’s parade will feature several groups, \u00a0including the St. Joseph Flag Wavers,\u00a0the NBD Flag Wavers,\u00a0Gems, \u00a0T-shirt Bands,\u00a0\u00a0Afrikulture Stilt Walkers,\u00a0New\u00a0Town Stilt Walkers, Bacchanal Ladies,\u00a0KariFuna\u00a0Cultural\u00a0Group, Lapo\u00a0kabwit Groups,\u00a0St. Joseph Sensei\u00a0among others.<\/p>\n

She also noted that the\u00a0Carnival will conclude with live performances by Triple K\u00a0International\u00a0Band,\u00a0Shelly and the Signal Band, \u00a0the Explosive Band, DJ Mj & MV among others.<\/p>\n

Meantime, Sanderson indicated that the St Joseph Village Carnival Committee\u00a0continues\u00a0to work closely with the police, fire service and key stakeholders to ensure a safe, organized and violence-free village carnival.<\/p>\n
