Society is founded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to him, the family has a mission so vital that humanity either stands or falls by it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe church uses some very lofty language when she speaks of marriage,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He continued, \u201cThe Second Vatican Council refers to marriage as an intimate partnership of life and love.\u00a0 The mutual giving of two persons.\u00a0 A love which abides faithfully in prosperity and adversity.\u00a0 An indissoluble covenant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bishop Forbes added, \u201cIt&#8217;s a vocation one is called to. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us: The vocation of marriage is written into the very nature of man and woman.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">World Marriage Day is an annual celebration on the second Sunday in February.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The celebration is seen as an opportunity to honor couples, the foundation of the family, and the basic unit of society.
