The East Caribbean Conference of Seventh-Day Adventist is conducting two workshops here which commenced in the north at the temple SDA school on Wednesday 18th continuing through Saturday 21st. Disaster preparedness and psychoogical First Aid are the two areas covered in thes workshops.<\/p>\n
The program is repeated in the South at the Roseau SDA Church on Sunday 22nd -Tuesday 24th May.<\/p>\n
Objectives:<\/p>\n
Teach the four key principles of family disaster planning: Plan. Prepare. Protect. Practice.<\/p>\n
Identify emergency contacts during a disaster.<\/p>\n
Prepare a list of critical disaster supplies.<\/p>\n
Create lists of special provisions for children, older adults.<\/p>\n
Identify government and community organizations that provide support during disasters.<\/p>\n
Examine the Psychological trauma associated with disasters, and<\/p>\n
Teach participants how to render psychological first aid in these critical<\/p>\n
