Under the inspiring theme \u201cBeyond the Beaten Path,\u201d\u00a0 a\u00a0Dominica Hotel & Tourism Association (DHTA) release stated that this year\u2019s event encourages adventurers of all levels to explore Dominica\u2019s pristine wilderness, uncover hidden gems, and immerse themselves in the island\u2019s natural beauty.<\/p>\n

HikeFest 2026 is designed to showcase Dominica\u2019s diverse and captivating environments, from secluded lakes and secret pools to rugged forests, dramatic ridgelines, and majestic waterfalls. The event promotes sustainable tourism by encouraging exploration off the typical tourist trails, offering a fresh perspective on the island.<\/p>\n

Spanning five Saturdays in May, HikeFest features a carefully curated selection of hikes suitable for beginners, casual walkers, and seasoned trekkers alike. Each guided hike is led by experienced professionals who will share insights into Dominica\u2019s unique biodiversity, history, and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

HikeFest 2026 Schedule<\/p>\n

– May 2 \u2013 Adventure Begins (Moderate | 1.5 hours) \u2013 Boeri Lake
\n– May 2 \u2013 Step into Natural (Challenging | 3 hours) \u2013 Trinity Lakes
\n– May 9 \u2013 Beyond the Lake Road (Moderate | 3 hours) \u2013 Chemin Letang Trail
\n– May 16 \u2013 Echoes of the Maroons (Challenging | 2.5 hours) \u2013 Jaco Flats
\n– May 23 \u2013 Nature After Dark (Easy | 1.5\u20132 hours) \u2013 Segment 4, Middleham Trail
\n– May 30 \u2013 Valley of Wonders (Challenging | 6\u20138 hours) \u2013 Boiling Lake
\n– May 30 \u2013 A Secret Beyond (Easy | 1 hour) \u2013 Charles Warner Trail<\/p>\n

In addition to these Saturday hikes, there will be special mid-week excursions on May 14, 18, and 21, providing even more opportunities to explore Dominica\u2019s extraordinary landscapes.<\/p>\n

The DHTA characterizes HikeFest as more than just an event; it\u2019s a movement to promote sustainable tourism and a deeper appreciation for Dominica\u2019s natural assets.<\/p>\n
