The Regional Judicial and Legal Services Commission (RJLSC) has announced a notable development ahead of its scheduled meeting on March 13, 2026.<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the Commission, the Honourable Mr. Justice Winston Anderson, officiated the swearing-in ceremony for three newly appointed members of the CARICOM Competition Commission (CCC). An RJLSC media release said this event marked an important step as these individuals prepare to undertake their responsibilities in promoting equitable competition, safeguarding consumer interests, and bolstering the integration efforts of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).<\/p>\n

In accordance with the obligations set forth by the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas, the RJLSC officially administered the Oath of Office to the following Commissioners:<\/p>\n

– Mr. David Miller
\n– Ms. Ayiesha De Coteau Sammy
\n– Mr. Joel Allen<\/p>\n

The release stated that the ceremony was notably attended by the Premier of the Virgin Islands, the Honourable Dr. Natalio Wheatley, whose presence was deeply appreciated by the Commission. His attendance underscored the significance of this occasion within the regional integration framework.<\/p>\n

During the brief event, remarks were delivered by several distinguished figures.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, the Honourable Mr. Justice Winston Anderson, Chair of the RJLSC, expressed his congratulations and highlighted the importance of the new Commissioners’ roles.<\/p>\n

Professor Andrew Downes, Chairman of the CARICOM Competition Commission, also shared words of encouragement, emphasizing the commitment to fostering fair competition across member states. Additionally, the Honourable Dr.<\/p>\n

Wheatley conveyed his support and best wishes for the success of the appointees.<\/p>\n

The RJLSC extended its congratulations to the newly sworn-in members and wished them success in their important duties as they contribute to the ongoing development of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.<\/p>\n
