The oppressive nature of Christianity in Europe resulted in the divorce of church and state. Secularism and secular democracy has become the order of the day. Why? A serious rise in agnosticism and atheism simply because Christianity presented a white god painted by Michael Angelo which is practically naked with long white beard.<\/p>\n
The representation of \u201cgod\u201d was so anthropomorphic that it was rejected along intellectual circles. Thus, the responsibility of conveying authentic monotheism to the world lies on the back of a few Muslims amidst a world where wrong is right and vice versa. In this article we will look very briefly at 3 misconceptions about Allah.<\/p>\n
Some people assert that they have their own way of worshiping God, thus they do not need somebody else to tell me how to obey him. Allah instructs us in the Holy Quran, \u201cOr have they partners with Allah, who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not given permission for?\u201d (Holy Quran, 42:21). The human being creates institutions such as banks, libraries, universities etc, they employ subjects to work at these institutions, these subjects must adhere to a code of ethics or else they are fired yet man is within a vast universe that overwhelms him thus he wants to worship Allah the way he feels fit. What audacity man has? What an arrogant creation man is!<\/p>\n
Others like Islam but they are in disagreement with some things and request to adapt the message of Islam to contemporary values. Allah says, \u201cWhen our clear verses are recited to them, those who hope not for their meeting with Us, say: \u2018Bring us a Quran other than this, or change it.\u2019 Say: \u2018It is not for me to change it on my own accord; I only follow that which is revealed to me. Verily, I fear if I were to disobey my Lord, the torment of a Great Day.\u201d (Holy Quran 10:15). We see the same thing happening today. Muslims are persecuted for righteousness sake simply because they abhor the practice or homosexuality, they do not consume alcohol or engage in any actions which are destructive to the society. They want Islam to \u201cfit in.\u201d Unfortunately, truth has come and falsehood is bound to perish.<\/p>\n
Arrogant men say that they are into independent reasoning, they do not need to follow divine instructions because they are humanists; they believe that mankind has the ability to discover what is right and wrong. This is an unintelligible statement. The reason is that man by nature is very egotistical. They make laws to suit their cultural biases. For example, the founding fathers of the United States drafted laws that were pro slavery due to the culture and system at the time. Allah says, \u201cMost of them follow nothing but conjecture. Certainly, conjecture can be of no avail against the truth. Surely, Allah is All-Aware of what they do.\u201d (Holy Quran 10:36)<\/p>\n
