The low pressure center east of Dominica has become better organized and is close to becoming a tropical depression\/storm.<\/p>\n

This system is moving west north westwards at 15 to 20 kph and is expected to begin to affect the island by tomorrow; Monday with the likelihood of some moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds across the island.<\/p>\n

The Hurricane Hunter is scheduled to investigate the system this afternoon.\u00a0 There is a possibility that tropical cyclone watches or warning be issued later today.<\/p>\n

Residents in low lying areas, areas prone to flooding and landslides, and fishermen particularly on the eastern coast of the island should continue to monitor the progress of this system and be on the alert.<\/p>\n

Sea conditions are expected to remain moderate today. However, with the approach of the wave, a deterioration in sea conditions is expected by late tonight into tomorrow. Small craft operator, seabathers and residents near coastal areas are advised to exercise caution.<\/p>\n
